My heart is beating fast:(Gustavo Cerati and Chi Cheng news)

Yesterday i enter the Gustavo Cerati website(www.cerati.com), the family issued a new entry titled: "Thanks and denied the rumors".

As you may have heard, the rumor began again, "Gustavo Cerati dead." Apart from being a few minutes confused when I read that officially the family denied these rumors, I got angry. I can not believe that there are people, magazines, newspapers and journalists who can post a rumor like that.

It turns out that The Nation of Costa Rica, now apologize for the hasty news, but this newspaper has not issued a formal apology, the newspaper said: "The nation is still attached to its values of providing accurate and relevant information and works every day in it. However said it was "a hasty news, just an error because of the fight for the scoop."

A fight over the scoop? It disgust me, this kind of "scoops" for which many mass media fight for,trying to anticipate the fate that God has for Cerati, just to be the first one to publish this sad news (i hope it never happens) can you imagine?

In other news, with a bad "taste in my mouth" I left the previous news, and went to facebook.com and I read the daily positive comments for Chi Cheng. One of them said: "Love you ♥ Chi Waiting For You, As Long As It Takes ♥." I got sad, for Gustavo and Chi. The two musicians who have made thousands of people happy with their music, with a family and many reasons to live,.... and today are in a similar situation for different reasons.

The two families handle this situation in two different ways, as far as i know, the family of Cerati has been more private about it, anyway Gustavo is still in a hospital bed with no progress whatsoever, which probably is causing discouragement in his family .

Right now, the Cheng family has resons to celebrate since he got home and is still making progress everyday, which is something that feeds my hope (if thats the right word for it) even more.

Don't lose hope, everything it's possible. :)

The Soundtrack of My Life: Scorpions

Scorpions is a band I started to like because of one particular song: "Wind of Change." This song marked a specific moment in my life. Every time I feel melancholic, I listen to it, and every time I hear it, I yearn for a perfect past. Ironically, while the song celebrates the end of a dark era and the arrival of change, it makes me want to return to the past—as if that change had never happened. 

"Wind of Change" is a 1990 power ballad written by Klaus Meine, vocalist of the German rock band Scorpions. It appeared on their 1990 album Crazy World, but did not become a worldwide hit single until 1991, when it topped the charts in Germany and across Europe, and hit #4 in the United States and #2 in the United Kingdom. The song brings back memories from as far back as I can remember, spanning the late '80s to the early '90s. When it comes to classic tracks, this is definitely in the soundtrack of my life. No, I am not a superfan, but I respect them and their career, and seeing them was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Yet, while standing in line at the Estadio Hernando Siles in La Paz, I hadn't yet realized that in just a few hours, I was going to hear all the songs that reminded me of different chapters of my life. 

The Wait

We arrived about four hours before the concert, and the lines were already endless. Luckily, my brother and I were right around the middle of the queue. It was a good place to be, because over the next few hours, the line behind us grew and grew and grew.

As it started to get dark, the people around us began drinking and singing songs from the group we were all eager to hear live for the very first time—in our city, in our country.

Inside Estadio Hernando Siles

At last! The doors opened around 8:00 PM, and our boredom and fatigue instantly turned into a mix of nervousness and excitement. I had never been inside the Hernando Siles before; I am no fan of football (at least not national football), and I had never attended a concert of this magnitude for an international group like Scorpions. After taking in the sight of the stadium and watching the massive crowd continually pouring into the venue, the show finally started.

First, a Queen tribute band took the stage. I must say they were great in every way, but Scorpions was the only band I was truly waiting for, so I didn't pay too much attention to the opening act.

Then, the lights went off. At last! The entire stadium erupted, screaming with excitement. The stadium lights, the glow from nearby buildings, and the night sky created the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of classic rock.

When it came time for "Wind of Change," honestly, I almost started crying. I was right there in La Paz, at the concert, listening to a band I never imagined I’d get to see—and hearing a song I never thought I'd get to hear live! I sang, I listened, I took pictures... I recorded that moment in time on my phone and in my mind, because it was the only thing I could do. Thanks, Scorpions.

La banda sonora de mi vida: Scorpions

Scorpions es una banda que empecé a apreciar gracias a una canción en particular: "Wind of Change". Esta canción marcó un momento específico de mi vida. Cada vez que me siento melancólico, la escucho, y cada vez que la oigo, añoro un pasado perfecto. Irónicamente, aunque la canción celebra el fin de una era oscura y la llegada del cambio, me hace desear regresar al pasado, como si ese cambio nunca hubiera ocurrido.

La canción me trae recuerdos desde que tengo memoria, desde finales de los 80 hasta principios de los 90. En cuanto a clásicos, sin duda forman parte de la banda sonora de mi vida. No, no soy una superfan, pero los respeto a ellos y a su trayectoria, y verlos en directo fue una oportunidad única. Sin embargo, mientras hacía fila en el Estadio Hernando Siles de La Paz, aún no me había dado cuenta de que en tan solo unas horas iba a escuchar todas esas canciones que me recordaban distintas etapas de mi vida. 

La espera

Llegamos unas cuatro horas antes del concierto y las filas ya eran interminables. Por suerte, mi hermano y yo estábamos justo en el medio. Fue una suerte, porque durante las siguientes horas, la fila detrás de nosotros no paró de crecer.

Al empezar a oscurecer, la gente a nuestro alrededor comenzó a beber y a cantar canciones del grupo que todos estábamos ansiosos por ver en vivo por primera vez, en nuestra ciudad, en nuestro país.

 

El Estadio poco a poco se llenaba:

¡Por fin! Las puertas se abrieron alrededor de las 8:00 p. m., y nuestro aburrimiento y cansancio se transformaron instantáneamente en una mezcla de nerviosismo y emoción. Nunca antes había estado dentro del Hernando Siles; no soy aficionado al fútbol (al menos no al fútbol nacional), y nunca había asistido a un concierto de esta magnitud de un grupo internacional como Scorpions. Tras contemplar el estadio y observar cómo la multitud seguía entrando, el espectáculo finalmente comenzó.

Primero, una banda tributo a Queen subió al escenario. Debo decir que fueron geniales en todos los sentidos, pero Scorpions era la única banda que realmente esperaba, así que no presté mucha atención al telonero.

Entonces, se apagaron las luces. ¡Por fin! Todo el estadio estalló en vítores de emoción. Las luces del estadio, el resplandor de los edificios cercanos y el cielo nocturno crearon el escenario perfecto para una noche inolvidable de rock clásico.

Cuando llegó el momento de "Wind of Change", sinceramente, casi lloro. Estaba allí mismo, en La Paz, en el concierto, escuchando a una banda que jamás imaginé ver, ¡y oyendo una canción que nunca pensé que escucharía en vivo! Canté, escuché, tomé fotos... Grabé ese momento en mi teléfono y en mi mente, porque era lo único que podía hacer. Gracias, Scorpions.
